Laundry list of reasons that a wedding planner will help you
Wedding planning is a lot! To be honest, the more you get into the process the more unfolds that has to be thought through and planned for and done. Deciding a budget, finding, hiring and working with all the vendors and the venue, guest lists, and all the small details of planning a wedding celebration is no small task.
The process can become overwhelming very quickly. And all this you’re taking on is on top of your regularly busy schedule.
One of the BEST ways I know how to make your wedding process go smoothly is to hire a qualified wedding planner. Let me tell you why…
1. Savings by Spending smart
This may seem counterintuitive but it really is not. A wedding planner is going to be the best person to help you define a budget, tell you what is possible with that budget and make sure you stick to your budget.
They will keep you from spending all your money in one area and keep you balanced and reminded of all the aspects you will need to invest in.
I had a bride once who was a DIY bride and she did an amazing job on her wedding. It turned out beautifully and she managed things fairly ok considering her fulltime job and dealing with all the vendors… but she went $20,000 over her budget! I have told this story to many of my wedding planner friends and they are so sad because if they had been given the original budget they could have helped her have as much of a beautiful wedding with that amount. But they have also talked about what they could do with what she “accidentally” spent. While this might seem like an extreme example, you’d be surprised how many couples go over budget for their wedding day The Knot Real Weddings 2017 said that 45% of couples spent over $7,000 over their budget.
Imagine if all those couples hired a planner in the first place and not only saved all that extra money spent but had less stress in their planning process!?

The number of times I have seen a wedding planner save the day. Small things to big. A wedding gown got torn just before going down the aisle with a handy fix it kit the planner had on her she was able to pin the dress together without even adjusting the timeline.
The gist of this one is they have lived through so many weddings they are ready for all the standard mishaps and have a plan already in place and often are prepared for those rare/unlikely mishaps as well!
3. Actual Planning Ease
Wedding planning takes between 6-24 months and on average in US couples spend $30,000. In planning the number of emails you will be typing and sending to different people and vendors is going to feel endless. The small choices and things that come up that you didn’t know would even be a consideration…
A good wedding planner can not only help streamline your budget, keep you at ease for knowing you will have all the boxes checked but they will also be able to help with all those contacts and communications taking more off your plate in this process while they guide you through and orient you to the decision making process of your design.
4. Advocate and Advice
There will be so many voices chiming in for your wedding day. A wedding planner knows you style and vision and advocates and steers the design and the experience on how to mitigate the complexity of others opinions.
All the while the planner can give you unbiased advice from experience and expertise that almost no one else could give you
They can be extremely helpful in connecting you to vendors that are prefect fits for you whether it is looking through a list of Raleigh Wedding Photographers or picking the perfect DJ!
A wedding planner who has been around for years will have founded and solid relationships with other wedding vendors in the area. They will be able to give you honest and clear feedback on vendors you had in mind and be able to easily suggest vendors to you that will deliver superior results.
And how great to think that if your vendors have worked together how much more smoothly they will work together on your wedding day!
6. Inspiration/Ideas
A wedding planner is there to help you with your vision. Answer questions and direct you as you desire. This can be a great relationship and resource for ideas and inspiration. You might know the feel you desire but want to know ideas on how to get there. A good wedding planner has loads of ideas on how to implement your vision in different ways.
The decision is yours but they are there to help you think through and get creative as you desire. Coming to the table with an open mind and you’ll be surprised what can be achieved!
7. Time Management/ Additional events
Wedding planners are a huge help for reminding you on when decision deadlines are coming up during the wedding planning process but also on the day of the wedding they can be the person who takes on the stress of the timeline.
Another thing for you to let go of and just be present on your wedding day!
With very little added strain for you, your wedding planner could jump in and help you with other events along the way like bridal shower or rehearsal dinner or even honeymoon. A great resource of information and ideas.
Boiled down: Stress Free Wedding
Not only are wedding planners invaluable for the planning process and taking away that stress, they are also amazing for the wedding day to be as stress free as possible!
If you are not sold on a full design wedding planner, a day of coordinator can make a world of difference in your stress on your wedding day. They can help design the tables, talk to the vendors as they arrive, be the point of contact as well as the keeper of the timeline.
